The Society of Automotive Engineers SAE International, initially established as the Society of Automotive Engineers, is a U.S.-based, globally active professional association and standards developing organization for engineering professionals in various industries. Principal emphasis is placed on transport industries such as automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicles. SAE International is the premier world resource for the design, manufacturing, operation, and maintenance of automobiles, aircraft, space vehicles, off-highway equipment, trucks, buses, trains, marine craft, engines, and self-propelled vehicles. SAEINDIA is a strategic alliance partner of SAE International registered in India as an Indian non-profit engineering and scientific society dedicated to the advancement of mobility industry in India. Its members combine their specialized abilities to further advance the research, development, design, manufacture and utilization of vehicles which operate on land, water, air and space.

Mrs. M. Madhavi, is the coordinator for student affairs in the department of Mechanical engineering. She is also the faculty coordinator for SAE – VBIT SB, since last 2 years and has been constantly holding up the student branch and developing the standards of students.

SAE VBIT SB was started in October of 2016 to encourage all the students of various streams to be inspired by innovative and practical methods to the field of automotive engineering, SAE VBIT SB is one of its kind as it incorporates all the various fields of engineering to achieve its objectives.
This is the 6th Student Branch of SAE – VBIT SB.
